An enchanting world of Moorish charm awaits visitors who travel off the beaten path to the picturesque Pueblos Blancos of Andalusia. These small, quiet hilltop villages are distinguished by their simple whitewashed houses. The architecture derives its influence from North Africa (present-day Algeria and Morocco), the Moors' native land.

The main concept revolves closed exteriors and open interiors with fresh patios where you can find elements such as water, in fountains and plants to maintain a nice cool temperature inside.

Most of the villages are clustered around the Sierra de Grazalema and Sierra Nevada mountain ranges and the Las Alpujarras foothills. Some of the villages are close to each other and can be easily combined on a driving day trip.

Our favorite white villages are; Tarifa, Vejer de la frontera, Sierra de Grazalema & Ubrique.
